The purpose of art is to lay bare the questions which have been hidden by the answers.
– James Arthur Baldwin
Art is a representation of the form of human beauty of view. Some even believe that people are aware of the beauty that the artist because he shows them. The Greece is the cradle of modern human civilization. This is where concepts such as democracy came to be appreciated. Greece influenced human culture in a way that few others and his legacy as great works of writing, architecture and art, of course.
The ancient Greek art developed very quickly and at a time when Greece is to interact with other cultures, schools of Greek art have been well established. Art in ancient Greece often focuses on humanistic influences mostly representing human figures or representations of Greek gods and goddesses. Scholars Ancient Greek art divided into three distinct groups, whose names are the same as the historical periods to which they belong. The first is the archaic ends around 450 BC with the Persian invasion. Then comes the classic period of Greek art, which lasted until the death of Alexander the Great in about 323 BC The last one is the time Hellenistic, which began after the fall of the empire of Alexander. These divisions are by no means conclusive, they are essentially creating a genre in which different art forms can be referred.
Painting demanded greater respect in ancient Greece. Unfortunately, nothing tangible Greek painting has survived the modern era. Paintings on the walls of tombs discovered Italy and Macedonia, handpainted pots is all that remains of this great form of Greek art. A few art forms that survive are the sculptures, coins and engravings GEM and of course the Greek architecture. However, even these, only a small fraction has the hands of present generations. Most of the marble statues were destroyed or burned Christians have tried to purify the paganism of Greece, while the bronze was lost when the freighter collapsed, or when molten bronze was needed. The architecture of the Greeks was to inspire the greatest monuments the world, but much of the inspiration is lost forever. Four of the seven ancient wonders of the world, the Statue of Zeus, the Temple of Artemis, the Colossus of Rhodes and the Lighthouse of Alexandria were Greek monuments. Land now has little sign of them or their magnitude.
